At Clinic Saint-Jean, our accredited and coordinating Breast Care Clinic welcomes all women with a concern about breast cancer. Although breast cancer affects only a minority of men, men are also welcome. The clinic combines all consultations, examinations, and patient follow-up in one place. Experienced specialists, such as thoracic radiologists, breast surgeons, oncologists, radiation therapists and oncology nurse coordinators work together to provide patients with tailored support. 

Coordinating Breast Care Clinic since 2008

For 15 years, our Breast Care Clinic has been one of 52 recognized "coordinating breast care clinics." We received this title because we meet certain quality criteria that really make a difference in the treatment of this disease. In fact, a recent study by the Federal Center for Health Care Expertise (KCE) shows that patients treated at an accredited breast care clinic have up to a 30% higher chance of survival than those who receive treatment at center without official accreditation. You can also come to us for problems other than breast cancer (screening), such as benign conditions (sore breasts, abscesses, cysts, etc.).

Medical platform

With over 15 years of experience, our Breast Care Clinic offers the ability to perform the entire patient journey in one location (a medical platform), which is quite unique and convenient. Mammography and ultrasound, as well as consultations with the oncologist, breast surgeon, radiotherapist, or psychologist, all take place in one familiar place where patients feel comfortable.

In addition to the emphasis on a personal and warm approach, we also invest a lot in our services. In fact, the Breast Care Clinic will soon acquire brand new additional mammograms and ultrasound machines to screen more women and reduce waiting time.

Multidisciplinary care

In our Breast Care Clinic, doctors and paramedics form a multidisciplinary, multilingual team. This team includes radiologists, oncologists, plastic surgeons, fertility physicians, acupuncturists, clinical geneticists, psychologists, dieticians, oncology rehabilitation specialists, bandage specialists, physical therapists, etc. The point of contact is the oncology coordination nurse. She is always available, organizes the scheduling of tests and treatments, can explain medical terms, consults with physicians and specialists, and handles communication between all parties involved.

We care for mental health

Mental health is an important aspect of cancer treatment that is sometimes forgotten. That is why we pay attention to it. We organize various activities during a treatment program, such as art therapy workshops, relaxation sessions, massages, and facials. We also organize "hormone-cafés", which are social events where patients can share their experiences with each other and with the team. Our psychologists also provide emotional support to patients and their families during and after treatment.
