The aim of cross-cultural mediation is to improve communication between the foreign patient, his family and the hospital professionals via the cross-cultural mediator.
This operations of this department are based on a three-way encounter between the patient, the hospital professional (nursing, administrative, social worker) and the cross-cultural mediator.
The cross-cultural mediator is the neutral intermediary who does not assume any liability in conveying the message he is asked to explain or translate. It is therefore important for the healthcare individual to be present.
Areas of involvement:
- Translation
- Mediation and sensitisation to the needs of foreign patients
- Counselling on health education
- Consultations with the nursing staff
- Training more specific to the Moroccan and Turkish cultures
