Access to quality healthcare in well-equipped hospitals is taken for granted by us. Affiche concert SSDWe even say it’s “normal”. But this isn’t actually true for everyone.

Established in 2010 by Dr. Patrick Gérard, former General Manager Clinic Saint-Jean, the not-for-profit association Santé Solidarité Développement (SSD, Health and Development Solidarity Association) has as its goal to work in partnership with healthcare and health education organisations in Africa, Togo at present.

The association has about 20 members: hospital physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists who are practicing or have practiced at Clinic Saint- Jean in Brussels; in addition, several economists, hospital architects, maintenance and public works specialists have joined the association.
Thanks to the generosity of its patrons and the dynamism of its members, who are all volunteers, the SSD has succeeded in completing several projects such as the construction of 2 care companion villages, an incinerator at the Sodoké University Hospital, ongoing training sessions, and has for the past few years organised and participated in campaigns promoting surgical repair of obstetric fistulas.

To successfully carry through the next surgical repair campaign, SSD is organising a concert to be held on Friday 4 March 2016 at the W-Hall (Charles Thielmans Avenue 93, 1150 Brussels) jointly with the Brussels Millennium Lions Club.

Clinic Saint-Jean has already indicated its support in the event’s programme.
So come along and play your part.
